Therapy Source Celebrates Martin Luther King Day of Service with Philadelphia Reads!

On January 19, 2015, Therapy Source proudly supported our local community in celebration of Martin Luther King Day of Service. Our account managers, Sherisse and Roshni, turned their day off into a day on by donating their time to participate in several worthwhile activities.

Working with the Philadelphia Reads Literacy Project, Sherisse and Roshni spent the morning creating books on tape to promote literacy for the city’s youth. Philadelphia Reads is a non-profit organization with the goal of getting every child in Philadelphia to read at grade level by the end of their third year.

Next, our account managers got crafty, helping children design superhero capes and tutus that would be donated to early intervention daycare centers in Philadelphia. They also worked alongside graduate and undergraduate students to paint banners covered with inspirational messages and symbols. The banners were to be used to beautify the space in several Philadelphia public schools.

Martin Luther King Day of Service was certainly a long day but one that our account managers felt was well spent! They were excited about the opportunity to give back to a community that Therapy Source was so involved with, and they couldn’t wait to volunteer for Martin Luther King Day of Service again in the future.
